JustRight Scotland is Scotland’s legal centre for justice and human rights. Our experienced team of human rights lawyers collaborates with our partners to better improve human rights and social justice in Scotland and further afield. We do this by providing legal services directly to individuals as well as policy, research and training activities. We operate three centres of legal excellence and a think tank hub.
Scottish Refugee & Migrant Centre
Our Senior Associate Andy Sirel heads our Scottish Refugee & Migrant Centre (SRMC), which draws on over 40 years’ of specialist experience within the JustRight Scotland team and is comprised of collaborative projects targeting Migrant Destitution & Equalities, Women’s Rights, Children’s Rights, Refugee Family Reunion, and Brexit & EU Citizens.
Scottish Women’s Rights Centre
Our Senior Associate Sarah Crawford leads our legal project for The Scottish Women’s Rights Centre (SWRC). The SWRC is an innovative collaborative project which brings together the expertise of JustRight Scotland with Rape Crisis Scotland and the University of Strathclyde Law Clinic. The SWRC works with women who have been affected by Gender Based Violence and improves their access to justice and experience of the legal processes they may require to come in contact with.
Anti-Trafficking & Exploitation Centre
Our Anti-Trafficking & Exploitation Centre provides legal advice and representation to child and adult survivors of trafficking and exploitation, as well as serving as a hub for outreach, policy, training and research. Led by our Director, Kirsty Thomson, the Centre uses our team’s expertise to contribute to the fight against trafficking and exploitation at both the national and international level.
JustRight for All
JustRight for All is our legal policy, research and training hub within JustRight Scotland. Led by our Director/Partner Jen Ang, it takes the learning from our specialist legal centres and uses them to influence policy and contribute to research that improves outcomes for the people we work with. It also delivers training and workshops with the aim of promoting and protecting human rights by making human rights information, ideas and debates accessible to all.
